Summary

Animals have their say when it comes to importance of biodiversity in Croatia.

Challenge

Urbanization, biodiversity loss, and population pressures are creating a paradigm shift in how environmental issues are addressed, especially for future generations. The national campaign, commissioned by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Croatia, introduces the public to Natura 2000, an ecological network for the conservation of endangered species and habitats in the EU, and emphasizes the importance of connecting people and nature for a shared future.

The aim of the campaign was to motivate the inhabitants of Croatia, a nation very rich in biodiversity, to reconsider their own attitudes and actions and to realize how even simple steps can help achieve ecological balance in the local environment while improving their quality of life.

Solution

Animals deliver the message: If you do not listen to the voice of nature there will be no future. As endangered species, but also the inhabitants of Croatia, animals have the right to express their opinions about the importance of nature conservation. As the main actors, they spoke about it through the national campaign “Listen to the voice of nature” which emerged in a form of print and electronic media, commercials, and a comprehensive web page in a call for an understanding of Natura 2000 ecological values and biodiversity of Croatia.
